Counterpoint 'private mailing list' subscription instructions

(Please read everything carefully before subscribing.)

1) Since I am completely inept and cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to make a password-protected webpage, you should only sign up for this list if you are willing to receive the fics via email in MS Word .doc format.

2) When subscribing, you should adjust whatever SPAM settings you may have to accept bulk bcc emails with attachments from any lightindarkplaces.net mailing address.  (Most of the fics should come from the 'Subscribe@' address, but sometimes I forget.)  When you receive your first bulk-mailing, I will ask you to confirm receipt, just to make sure your server doesn't get shirty with mine and bounce the email; this is for your benefit, to make sure you're getting the fics you're signing up to receive.

3) You must agree not to share those fics you will receive with others or make any part of them public.  I have reasons for not posting them immediately (or ever) and would appreciate it if those reasons were respected.  If you have a friend who wants to read something, please ask them to sign themselves up; don't just send them something which I have specifically asked you not to, and I am specifically asking you not to send anyone any of these fics.

I don't mean to make this sound all cloak-and-dagger and I'm not saying You Must Never Mention Any Of This On Pain Of Death; it's only that I expect a limited number of people to be interested in these fics and in all honesty, that's the way I'd like it to be.  These are basically fics that I wrote for myself, and it occurred to me that some of those people who enjoy 'Counterpoint' might like to read them and so I would like to share them with those who will appreciate them.

4) Should I ever see a fic posted by another author that closely resembles one of those for which I have given access but not yet posted, I WILL comment publicly to that effect.  (In other words: if you plagiarise, I will call you on it.)  This may sound a little harsh or rude to you, and I'm sorry for that, but I have had experience with this a few times in the past and do not intend to keep my mouth shut about it if there's a next time.

In this same vein: I should at least have heard of/from you beforeThere is some level of trust involved in this, and I can't be expected to trust someone I've never even heard of.  If you've not had the courtesy to introduce yourself before in some form, I will likely ignore your request.  Sorry, but my stories, my rules.

5) This list will be kept separate from the Site Subscription list; if you want to be on both, you must sign up for both.

6) If you have read all of this and agree to it and would like to be placed on the list, click here and paste the following: 'I am of legal age in my country of residence and I agree to the terms and conditions specified; please add me to the list' in the body of your email.  You will then receive the first of your (periodic and very sporadic) 'Counterpoint'-verse not-yet-posted fics.
