(Series)

Frodo/Merry

Rated from mild to VERY adult

Counterpoint: musical term; combining in a single texture two or more simultaneous melodic lines, each with a rhythmic life of its own

One note of change can alter the course of an entire composition.

Pre- through post-Quest series that follows the intertwining songs of Merry, Frodo and Sam.

With a splash of Pippin.

It's a long road a'ho, to be honest.  But I think these two deserve the time.

(The fic-proper is complete as of 05/10/06.  There are insets -- both written and planned -- that will be posted at odd intervals in the future.)

Soundtrack

(Updated 08/08)

Yes, I have made a soundtrack for this series.

Yes, I am aware that it is self-indulgent

but it's my series and my website,

so nyah.

According to the artist, these are Yavanna's Trees,

Telperion and Laurelin,

meant to represent Frodo (silver) and Merry (gold).

"They are not shining and source[s] of light like Yavanna’s trees, but silver Frodo and golden Merry bring a lovely life quality in the Shire and in Middle-earth."

(I have nothing intelligent to add to this because Estelanui has made me an incoherent puddle of emotional weep.  But I know how difficult and involving needlepoint is.  I'm sure she'd appreciate hearing from you, too.)

And sometimes, they're just for fun.

Those marked with a * can be read as stand-alones.
