It isn’t the same. The body is as smooth and the face as close as a brother’s. But the height is wrong, the breadth not right.

If he closes his eyes, allows his body to remember, he can dismiss the rolling accent that clings even to the moans as a trick of the ear, pretend that scars beneath his fingertips are up a little and to the right. Then release is sweet, though the waking tastes slightly bitter.

He thinks he should feel guilty but he doesn’t. Because Sam knows that Pippin sees another when he closes his eyes too.
